Get to Know JMatt
JMatt has become known for many different things, especially as it relates to the city of Milwaukee. More than just a resident, he is also an event planner and host of HashtagMKE which brings together content creators and social media enthusiasts from around the greater Milwaukee area.
Milwaukee Content Creator
In addition to HashtagMKE, JMatt is a lifestyle content creator (or Milwaukee influencer to some) focusing on supporting local businesses within the city of Milwaukee. He doesn’t review, rank, or rate businesses, his goal is to provide locals with their options from restaurants to retail and more.
Eventually, his success with content creation has led to over 180,000 followers on TikTok and over 10,000 followers on Instagram. As a result, he has collaborated on sponsored content with Red Bull, Pepsi (DigIn campaign), and Culver’s to name a few.
Another hobby of his is creating custom GIFs through GIPHY which has a total of over 315,000,000 views of his GIFs worldwide! You can browse through hundreds of his searchable GIFs through his verified account at @JMattMke.
In addition to content creation, he is a senior content strategist for a Milwaukee-based advertising agency, a public speaker, a former radio personality of 103.7 KISS-FM, and an active mental health advocate.
Mental Health Advocate
When it comes to his mental health advocacy, JMatt has been spreading suicide awareness and prevention since January 2017. Surprisingly even to himself, he has continued the 22 Pushup Challenge for over 2,400 days (the first 2,200 days were posted to IG @JMattMke and as of day 2,201 the pushups moved over to @JMattADHD on IG).
Overall, JMatt’s advocacy goal is to share resources. If you or someone you know needs support, you can text or call 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Formerly known as the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, 1-800-273-8255 is still active. You can also text HELLO to 741-741 for the Crisis Text Line.
