It’s no secret that I have a lot of love for the city of Milwaukee and have debatably overdone it with wearing multiple local apparel items at one time (a Milwaukee branded hat, a t-shirt, and even a hoodie… a walking promotional billboard for the city). 2021 Free Thanksgiving Meals in SE WI (+ Places to Donate)
Five years ago I worked for a non-profit that supported families in the greater Milwaukee area and when Thanksgiving came around there was discussion around Thanksgiving meals and where our clients could access some. Which led to looking around and at the time, finding several locations that wanted to help the community (not just on the holidays, but year-round).
Each year, I’ve tried to compile a list to make the information easier to find and when the pandemic hit, there were just as many resources out there, several restaurants and businesses stepping up to help. This year I want to try to get the information out there earlier and provide a more robust list, more than just free Thanksgiving meals, but ways to give back if you’re able and desire to do so.
You don’t have to be homeless, low-income or anything else to want to be around your community for Thanksgiving – the holiday is about bringing people together. If you’d otherwise be alone for the holiday, many of these locations would be happy to have you.
You never know who in your life may need a little extra support this time of year. Please help get the word out about free Thanksgiving meals in Southeastern Wisconsin so no one has to spend the holiday alone.
Food Pantries
- Feeding America has pantries and meal programs available across the nation, but locally, their Eastern Wisconsin division serves our community with several resources.
- Salvation Army is another large organization with several food pantries – find a location within Milwaukee County (or beyond).
- Hunger Task Force serves the Milwaukee area with its food bank and resources.
- Riverwest Food Pantry is also working to relieve hunger and improve lives with the support of the community.

10 Places for Wings in Milwaukee (with Dude Foods)
I have wanted to do a collaboration with Nick of DudeFoods.com for a while now, we met a few years back at one of my HashtagMKE events. It became clear very quickly that Nick knows a lot about food (and content creation)! We were recently chatting about how I wanted to update a few of my lists on TikTok and landed on putting together a list of places for wings in Milwaukee.

10 Bars to Grab a Mocktail in Milwaukee (with Erik Kennedy)
What exactly is a mocktail? It’s a casual way to refer to a non-alcoholic cocktail. It’s also an inclusive way to offer a beverage option to those that are not drinking. This could be for a number of reasons, such as they’re the designated driver or they just don’t drink alcohol. Or perhaps they’re trying to save some money (mocktails are quite affordable!). 10 Places to Get Asian Food in Milwaukee with Alexa Alfaro
Back in May during Milwaukee’s first-ever Asian Restaurant Week (May 16-22, 2021) put together by ElevAsian, I expressed on a TikTok that I didn’t realize Indian cuisine was considered Asian food. I know, I know, cringe. I get it! Asia is a HUGE continent with so much culture spanning across many countries and regions. But up until that video, when I thought of where to go for Asian food, my tendency was to think of Chinese, Korean, or Japanese restaurants first.

10 Milwaukee Dive Bars to Pull Up a Stool at (with Dives of Wisconsin)
I recently connected with Scott Small, one of the founders of Dives of Wisconsin (Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook), and collaborated on a TikTok to feature 5 dive bars in Milwaukee. TikToks are intended to be short and sweet, so there isn’t much room to expand (while maintaining interest) so I invited Scott to also help me create a more complete list of dive bars. The first 5 are my picks and the last 5 are his.
